This year brought changes to New Life Counseling, a ministry of ABCS. By the year’s end, we had a new Statewide Counseling Director, we welcomed two new counselors and established another counseling location at Casa de Amor in Mesa. Cami Ereth, who previously served as an ABCS parent aide in 2013, rejoined us in August as a licensed counselor specializing in trauma treatment for women and children. Cami serves clients in our Central Region, focusing on EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and play therapy.

In October, Lori Woods joined the counseling team. She has a background in theology and Christian counseling. Her specialty is working with families who have children with special needs, and she has a passion for ministry, having served alongside her husband in ministry for over 25 years. Lori is based in the Eastern Region and serves clients through virtual sessions. Scott Valentine started serving clients at our Mesa location near the end of the year and assumed the role of Statewide Director of New Life Counseling shortly afterward. In addition to Mesa, he continues to serve clients in Phoenix and Peoria. Opening the counseling office at Casa de Amor will allow us to serve more people in person in the East Valley. We are eager to see what God has in store for New Life Counseling in year ahead!
